Norman Ricky Hays was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Rick will be remembered as a one of a kind.
He was the son of Ronald Hays & Mahuel Hays. Rick grew up in Dublin, GA.
Rick was raised with 1 brother Ronald Hays.
As a young boy, Rick had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Rick was an active child who took part in Band. However, to Rick, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
Rick worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Rick was blessed with 3 children; 2 daughters, Chelsea Summer Nevens & Autumn Brooke Shehata, and 1 son, Nathan Ryan Hays. Another blessing for Rick was the gift of 8 grandchildren, Caitlin Summer Hays-Nevens, Kyle Justin Alford, Kain Alexander Porras, Brendon Kai Porras, Neil Hays, Vanessa Hays, Kaytlin Anne Shehata, Ashley Miriam Shehata.
Fortunately, Rick enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Rick worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He was an Artist & Photographer at heart, Truck Driver for most of his life, Lab Personell at Bridgestone Firestone during his children's formative years & Houston Events Security most recently. Rick always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Rick enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were Riding Horses in the hills of Tennessee & taking photographs of everything. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Rick was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Bill, his best friend and favorite horse. He Raised collies named Dixie, Rebel & Valentine when his children were small, but recently his favorite dog was "Dudley Do Right"as he called him.
He is survived by his 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 1 brother and many others who loved him dearly. Services were held at Darst Funeral Home. Rick was laid to rest in Dublin, Georgia next to his parents as well as his ashes being spread in Beechgrove & Woodbury Tennessee.
Simply stated, Rick was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Rick leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Norman Ricky Hays.
