Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Eiland Dodson, age 87, of Humble, Texas, passed away Saturday morning, May 24, 2025, at her residence. She was born January 30, 1938, in Milam County, daughter of the late Emmett and Margery Eiland. She was raised in Channelview, Texas, and graduated from Sterling High School in 1954. After high school, she began working as a data entry specialist for Gulf Oil Company until she met her husband, David. Barbara and Dave were married on October 4, 1969, and resided in Deer Park, Texas, along with David Lee Jr. In August of 1970, they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth.

Barbara was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. In 2002, Barbara and Dave built a home in Huffman, Texas, where she loved spending time outdoors photographing deer and other wildlife around their home. Barbara was a woman of great faith, who loved the Lord, and served her church family well." Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Eiland and Margery Eiland; two brothers, Gerald Eiland and James Wiley Eiland; stepson David Lee Dodson Jr. and grandson Joshua Dodson. Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Lee Dodosn, and their daughter Kimberly Elizabeth Frasier, and her husband John M. Frasier, and three granddaughters: Madison Elizabeth Frasier, Abigail Elaine Frasier, and Emily Annelise Frasier; and two sisters, Eva Bowdin and Patricia Bass. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Fountainwood Senior Living Community.
