Obituary

Bernadette Vinco DeOcampo, aged 69, passed peacefully the morning of October 5, 2026 in Kingwood, TX.

She was born on August 20, 1957 in Manila, Philippines as the 2nd sibling out of four, where she grew up and attended St. Scholastica’s College High School class of 1975 before immigrating to northern California in 1979 where she worked in sales and secretarial positions. She married her husband, Danny, on January 14, 1989. She became a mother in February 1992 to their daughter, Nikki. In 2000, their little family moved to Kingwood, TX, where she decided to be a stay-at-home-mother and homemaker. In her pivot, she expressed her creativity and love through eclectic decor, enjoying great food, and raising Nikki.

Bernadette was known for her thoughtfulness for others, lively energy, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. She made sure everyone felt remembered, always taking the time to send a greeting for every occasion. She loved deeply and welcomed everyone warmly, leaving a legacy of care and hospitality. A devout Catholic and unwavering prayer warrior, she was a spiritual anchor for others, constantly praying with those in need, leading novenas, and rallying her family and friends to grow in their faith.

Bernadette is survived by her husband, Danny DeOcampo and daughter, Nikki DeOcampo. She is also survived by her siblings: Bechay Vinco, Diana (Ed) Nolasco, and Albert Vinco, and her nieces and nephew: Carla, Angelo, Valerie, Angela, their partners and children. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elizabeth & Cesaero Vinco, and her sister-in-law, Grace Vinco. Her loss will be felt profoundly not just by her surviving family, but also her community, and all of whose lives she touched.

The Mass for Bernadette will be held on Tuesday October 20, 2026 11am at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 4301 Woodridge Pkwy, Porter, Texas.
