It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobby Ray Onderdonk, who departed this life on June 24, 2024, just four days shy of his 79th birthday.

Born on June 28, 1945, to William Austin Onderdonk and Evelyn Onderdonk, Bobby was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

Bobby grew up in Mercedes, Tx where he developed a passion for GTO's and the tuba. He was one of 12 children, and enjoyed a very close bond with all of them.

In his professional life, Bobby was a hardworking man. He dedicated many years to his work, always striving to make a positive impact on those around him. His friends remember him as a man of principle, a great sense of humor, and generosity.

Bobby's greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Linda, their two children, Bobbie Callahan and Brian Onderdonk; and their grandchildren, Chase Callahan, Jacob Craig, Ross Onderdonk, Lauren Callahan Nater, Aiden Craig, and Dylan Craig, his siblings Daniel Onderdonk and Ernest Onderdonk. Preceding him in death were his parents, WA Onderdonk Sr., Evelyn Claire Rollins; his brothers John Gilbert Onderdonk, WA Onderdonk Jr. Lawrence Onderdonk; his sisters Marjorie Nell Onderdonk Fiveash, Charlotte Onderdonk English, Billie Jean Onderdonk Maloy, MaryAnn Onderdonk Dickey, Sarah Jane Onderdonk Carruthers, and Evelyn Claire Onderdonk Holland.

Bobby will be remembered for his giving spirit, his infectious smile, and his unwavering support for those he loved. His life was a testament to the power of love and community, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
