Carroll Andrew Taylor, 77, of Huffman, Texas passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026.

Born at home on May 22, 1948, in Garland, Texas Carroll was the son of Dock Conner Taylor and Laura Nell Taylor. He graduated from Galena Park High School.

Carroll spent much of his life working as a skilled machinist, dedicating 49 years of service to Baker Hughes Tool Company/Hughes Christensen where he took pride in his strong work ethic.

He was a man who found joy in simple, meaningful things like riding bikes and motorcycles, working with his hands, carpentry and anything mechanical. He especially loved the thrill of going fast and the satisfaction of building and fixing things.

Carroll was known by those who loved him as a kind and gentle soul. He was a great listener, agreeable, polite and easy to be around. He carried a quiet strength and humility, often content to let others take the spotlight while he supported them faithfully in the background.

He was baptized in December of 1999 at Lake Houston Methodist Church alongside his wife, Melanie Sue Taylor.

Carroll is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie Taylor; His children Stephanie Sarbeck and husband Benny and Stephen Taylor and wife Kristen and his cherished grandchildren Nicholas and Lilly Sarbeck and Seth, Silas, Rosalie, Eliza, Elias and Annika Taylor.

He is survived by his siblings, Clyde Taylor and wife Norma, Lucille Maxey, Patricia Thamm and JR Shoemake and wife Kelly and his many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Dock Conner Taylor, Laura Nell Shoemake and husband Fenton "Huey" Shoemake. And brother-in-laws Fred Maxey and Warren Thamm.

Carroll will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a caring brother. A man who lived contentedly, loved quietly, and gave generously of himself to those around him.

A memorial service will be held at Lake Houston Methodist Church on April 11, 2026 at 10:00am.
