A Beloved Mother and Animal Enthusiast

Charlenes light, filled with faith and compassion, has gently faded away, leaving behind cherished memories and an everlasting impact on the lives she touched. On June 29, 2023, in Kingwood, Texas, we lovingly say goodbye to a remarkable woman whose devotion to her family and love for animals defined her existence.

Charlenes unwavering faith in God guided her path throughout most of her life. She found solace and strength in her Christian beliefs, radiating kindness and compassion to those around her. Her heart overflowed with love, extending a helping hand to those in need, offering words of encouragement, and sharing her unwavering faith with anyone willing to listen.

Animals held a special place in Charlenes heart, as she was a true lover of dogs, cats, and birds. She found joy in the gentle purring of her cats Ace, Scout, the wagging tails of her faithful dogs Cookie, Jake, Gaby, and the melodic songs of all birds in the backyard. Charlenes home was a sanctuary for these creatures, providing them with love, care, and shelter.

As a mother, Charlenes love and devotion knew no bounds. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing her children, offering guidance, and instilling in them the values of compassion, kindness, and faith. Charlenes unwavering support, unconditional love, and wise counsel will forever shape the lives of her children, serving as a guiding light as they navigate lifes challenges.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Norman Barry Harrod, of Kingwood, Texas, her son John Harrod, of Houston, Texas; her daughter Lynn Shoemake, of Conroe, Texas; her daughter Charlotte Martingano, of Houston, Texas; her daughter Cory Durand, of Conroe, Texas.

Charlene is preceded in death by her son James "Max" Harrod.

Although Charlenes physical presence may have departed, her love, faith, and passion for animals will forever remain etched in our hearts. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian, an advocate for animals, and, above all, a loving mother. May her soul find eternal peace in the embrace of her Creator.
