Obituary for Charles Sauls

Charles Lowell Sauls, Sr., 89, passed away on March 21, 2024 in Kingwood, Texas. Born on February 10,1935 in Tampa, FL, he was the beloved son of Lawton Cuthbert Sauls and Kathleen Sauls (Dick). Charles lead a remarkable life filled with love, dedication and hard work. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1952 before enlisting in the United states Air Force on February 26, 1954. His service took him to Turkey and Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he was honorably discharged on October 2, 1957. Utilizing the G.I Bill, he pursued higher education and graduated from the University of Miami in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, majoring in General Management and minoring in Personnel Administration.

In 1961, Charles began his professional journey at Coles Flowers Miami, FL, where he served as a personnel manager. His career then transitioned into the construction industry, where he made significant contributions to various projects and companies, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he worked in. Charles enjoyed many things but had a special love for fishing. On weekends, you could often find him in the Florida Keys near the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge on an isolated island no now as Little Money Key. His words, "My fishing haven is Little Money Key". Charles was a loving father and is survived by his daughters Lori Ann Elliott (nee Sauls) of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Melissa Castellow (nee Sauls) and Bridgitte Chavez (nee Sauls) both of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles "Chuck" Lowell Sauls. Jr. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Savannah and Christopher Elliott, Brittany Ayala, Emily Murphy, Charles "Charlie" Castellow and Evan and David Chavez as well as his five great grandchildren Kayden, Edward, Noah, Peyton and Jaxyn.

A memorial service will be held to honor his memory. Charles' family extends a special message of appreciation to his longtime caregiver, Marylou Wilcox, whos selfless dedication and care provided comfort and support to Charles for many years. They also express gratitude to Amy Yarbrough from Sarah Care of Kingwood for her kindness and compassion. Charles' legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the impact he made in his community. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hard work, and his larger than life personality. May his soul rest in peace.
