Daniel
Comalander, Jr.
Dec 2, 1976 — Jan 7, 2026
Daniel was born in Houston, TX to Daniel Comalander Sr. and Dian A. Smith-Comalander on December 2, 1976. He was raised in Odessa, TX until 1989. The family was then transferred to Brady, TX where Daniel continued in school until he graduated from Brady High School, class of 1995.
Daniel loved sports, he played baseball, basketball, and football, where he received All District Utility Player his senior year. He was voted Best Looking all four years of high school. Daniel received an Art scholarship to McMurry University in Abilene, TX where he studied for a season.
Daniel moved to Alice, TX in 2007 to work with Gill Services. In 2008 he met his wife Marisa and later became life partners on June 15, 2013. They later transferred to Houston, TX, where he continued to work for NOV. Daniel was a committed employee for 18 years as their Tong and Parts Manager.
In his leisure time, he loved to be with family, barbeque, play golf, collect and sample the finest whiskeys. He looked forward to his time away on vacations with Marisa and their friends Rodney and Dina. He also loved to collect and shoot guns. He was a great host to all our gatherings and loved to entertain, especially if karaoke was involved. He lived life to the fullest and had a presence that attracted everyone in the room. He loved to go to Alice and be with his in-laws, as soon as he knew he was going, he'd say "alright! It's party time!" On his down time he was upstairs on his Xbox and could play for hours. The one thing we all knew about Daniel, was that Marisa and Luli were the loves of his life. Daniel was an attentive, perfect, wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He cared deeply for everyone in this life and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Daniel was described as the most kind, tender-hearted, fun loving, witty person by many. He would always put everyone else before himself. His friends would say he was one of a kind, special, caring, loving, and an all-around great human being. As Rodney stated " There was Jesus and then there was Daniel."
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Simon Fuentes, Patrick Comalander, and Janice Comalander. Maternal grandparents, William Arlington Smith and Beaulah Katheryn Smith.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Marisa Comalander of Houston, TX, his father Daniel Comalander Sr. and wife Rotha of Midland, TX, his mother Dian Smith-Comalander of Ozark, MO, his sister Shannon Wilson and husband Marty of Springfield, MO, his niece Haley Vaught and husband Matthew and great niece Emersyn Grace of Ozark, MO, and his nephew Hunter Wilson of Springfield, MO.
Daniel (Doone), you left behind an unforgettable impression on our lives, one that comes around once in a lifetime. We know your spirit lives on and will be with us always. We will mourn you until we see you again, but the memories we shared will forever be in our hearts. You will always and forever be loved.
