Celebrating the Life of Dennis Carl McMillen

Dennis Carl McMillen was born on Oct 21,1942 in Los Angeles, California, where he lived until 1945. His parents were Robert O. McMillen and Elsie B. McMillen. He was the first of three children.

Dennis attended the following schools: Anderson High School, in Anderson, California; Oregon State University, in Corvallis, Oregon; and San Jose State University in San Jose, California- where he earned his Business Industrial Management and Mathematics degree. After graduation he began a career in 1966 as an Airline Pilot, with Eastern Airlines. He retired in 2002 after serving 26 years. After retirement, he was involved in International Commercial pilot and as a flight instructor. Dennis also served in the Army and Air Forces for 6 years.

On June 14, 1969, Dennis married Era Frances Freeman in Anderson, California. Together they lived in New York City, NY, Paramus, NJ, and Kingwood, TX.

Dennis was a member of Second Baptist Church of Kingwood, Texas. He would often like to say that he was a "bond servant to my LORD and savior Jesus Christ". He loved his special brothers in Christ. The most important events in his life were accepting Jesus as his savior and meeting my wife, Era. Outside of church and work, Dennis enjoyed walking together with his wife and spend time with Bible study. His favorite past times were flying, real estate, and skiing, and his favorite music included Elvis, 60's music, and You Raise Me Up by Josh Gorban.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Robert Oliver and Elsie Belle McMillen. He is survived by Wife, Era McMillen. His son, Matthew E. McMillen. Daughters Rachel Faith McMillen, Elizabeth McMillen. Grandsons Christian Duhon, Thomas Duhon, Kohen McMillen, Brexston McMillen and Daithan McMillen. Granddaughters Alena McMillen. Sisters Cynthia Pagliasotti and Billie Dale Drenk. Cousin Orville Clark. Son in law Chris Duhon and Brother- in- Law Doug Drenk., as well as many cousins, and nieces.

A memorial service for Mr. Dennis McMillen has been scheduled for November 4 starting at 2 PM, and will be held at Second Baptist Church, 2770 US-59, Kingwood, TX, 77339.
