Obituary

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Donna Diane Woods, born on January 8, 1942, in Port Townsend, Washington, to Vivian and Herbert Dralle. An only child, Donna was raised in the rugged beauty of Anchorage, Alaska, where she cultivated a strong spirit, a heart for service that would define her life, and a love for camping and fishing that brought her joy throughout the years.

During her years at Anchorage West High School, Donna was actively involved in school life and formed lifelong friendships. There, she met her soulmate, Alfred "Al" Woods, and the two began a journey of love, faith, and shared purpose. They were married on June 23, 1961, at Anchorage First Church of the Nazarene. Together, they attended Pasadena College in California to prepare for what would become over five decades of pastoral ministry, serving congregations across California, Alaska, and Washington for 52 years.

Donna's unwavering commitment to her faith began early. At just nine years old, she dedicated her life to Jesus at a summer Bible camp—and she never looked back. Her life was a living testimony to the joy of the Lord, evident in every smile, act of service, and word of encouragement she offered others.

Missions were a cornerstone of Donna and Al's life together. They were blessed to travel and minister in many parts of the world, always with hearts open to God's call and hands ready to serve. Her impact stretched far beyond the pulpit, touching lives in both small moments and great undertakings.

Donna had a gentle, nurturing spirit that showed in everything she did, especially in her garden, where she found peace and joy tending her flowers. Her love of nature mirrored the beauty she saw in the people around her.

Donna was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She is survived by:

● Her beloved husband, Alfred Woods, Sr.

● Her eldest daughter, Debbora Lynn Woods-Schmitt, and grandchildren Destiny Woods and Collin Schmitt (wife Mia), and great-grandchildren Amelia DeMelo and Emery Schmitt

● Her daughter, Alene Berniece Woods-Maag, and grandson Mylan Maag (wife Hollan)

● Her son, Alfred "AJ" Leroy Woods, Jr., (wife Shannon), and grandsons Judah Woods and Josiah Woods

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Silverado Hospice for their compassionate care during Donna's final days. Their support brought comfort and peace to a sacred season of transition.

Donna's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with faith, family, laughter, service, and love. While we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the certainty that she is now in the presence of the Savior she so faithfully served.
