Dr. C.V. Mathews (Kunjumon), beloved son of Varghese and Aleyamma Mathews and brother to the late Anamma and Marriamma, was born on January 8, 1940, in Kummanam, Kerala, India.

He completed his early education in Kottayam, earning a degree from CMS College Kottayam. On November 28, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Mrs. Thankamma Mathews, and together they built a loving home in Kottayam, welcoming their children: Sheeba, Sheena, and Shibu.

Kunjumon began his career as an education officer in the Kottayam district. In 1977, he moved with his family to the United States, settling in Tyler, Texas. There, he continued his academic and professional journey, earning his Ph.D. and serving as Chief Financial Officer at Texas College, later becoming interim president.

Deeply rooted in his faith and community, he was an active member of St. Mary's Orthodox Valiyapally in Dallas and played a key role in establishing St. George Orthodox Church in Mesquite, Texas. He later joyfully welcomed his children's spouses, Sunil (1993) and Jeya (1995), into the family.

In 1995, Kunjumon served as a department administrator at Morgan State University School of Engineering in Baltimore, Maryland. That same year, he eagerly awaited the birth of his first grandchild, Hannah. His devotion to family led him to travel weekly between Maryland and Texas to stay closely connected with loved ones.

In 1996, he returned to Texas and joined Texas Southern University as administrative director for the College of Pharmacy in Houston, where he served until his retirement in 2019. Over the years, he welcomed his other grandchildren Jeremy, Aaron, Rebecca, Jacob, Rachel, and Samuel, each bringing him immense joy.

As a man of immense faith and service, Kunjumon was a member of St. Mary's Malankara Syriac Orthodox Church in Houston and later a devoted member of St.

Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral, Houston. He fostered meaningful relationships, especially within the senior community, mentored younger generations, treated

fellow parishioners like family, and the children as his own children.

He traveled the world with his family, creating lifelong memories, and found great joy in gardening, generously sharing the fruits of his labor with friends, neighbors,

and loved ones. Kunjumon was steadfast in his daily prayers, faithfully lifting up his many loved ones. He was a devoted godfather and a caring uncle to many, always

offering guidance, support, and love to his nieces and nephews.

Kunjumon is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Thankamma Mathews; his children, Sheeba, Sheena and Sunil, Shibu and Jeya; his cherished grandchildren, Kristian and Hannah, Jeremy and Allie, Aaron, Rebecca, Jacob, Rachel, and Samuel; and his great-granddaughter, Myra.

He was a devoted brother, husband, father, godfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a guiding presence to all who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, humility, and ever-present willingness to help others. His legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
