Ellen Elaine Parker

April 26, 1960 – January 31, 2026

Ellen Elaine Parker passed from this world in Kingwood, Texas, surrounded by the love of family and friends, after a brief illness. Though her time on earth feels far too short, her life was full, vibrant, and deeply meaningful to all who knew her.

Ellen was a true spitfire—bold, spirited, and full of laughter. She lived loudly and loved fiercely, with an especially tender heart for animals and for her family. Her compassion was not quiet; it was active, generous, and ever-present. She opened her home, her arms, and her heart to anyone in need, making room for others exactly as they were.

A devoted believer in Jesus Christ, Ellen lived her faith openly and joyfully. She spoke often of her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior and made sure that everyone she encountered knew about the gift of eternal life. Her faith was her anchor, her hope, and her greatest comfort.

Ellen found joy in many of life's simple and thrilling pleasures. She was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers, and just about any sport worth cheering for. She loved live music and could often be found traveling across the country to attend concerts, soaking in the energy and magic of the moment. An avid fisherman, she especially treasured her trips to Cabo, always chasing "the big one" with a smile and a story ready to be told.

Ellen is preceded in death by her father, David Parker, and in a profound and bittersweet twist of fate, her beloved mother, Lola Bailey, who passed just hours before her on the same day. Ellen and her mother were truly two peas in a pod—inseparable in life and now reunited in eternity. The family finds comfort knowing they entered heaven together, hand in hand.

Ellen is survived by her siblings: Paul Thornton, Troy Thornton, Gina Davis (Sandy), Jason Thornton (Tammy), and Chance Thornton (Leigh Ann); her daughter, Mandie Leigh Thornton; and her cherished grandson, Anthony — the light of her life and a source of immeasurable pride and joy.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable ache, Ellen's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the love she gave so freely, and the faith she carried so boldly. Her light remains—woven into memories, laughter, music, and the quiet moments where her spirit still feels near.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Ellen's beautiful spirit.
