Obituary

Eric Lee Gooch was born on February 23, 1961 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He attended Northridge High School in 1979, and upon graduation made the honorable decision to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. Eric proudly and honorably served for 20 years before retiring from military service.

Following his Navy career, Eric continued to serve others by providing security for a private family in Fort Worth for another 20 years, retiring in 2022. After his retirement, Eric and his beloved wife, Kerry, relocated to Kingwood, Texas, where they made their forever home. Together, they cherished a peaceful life filled with quiet walks with their dogs, gardening, baking and cooking homemade meals, beautifying their home, and most importantly appreciating the beauty, nature, and tranquility of their community.

Eric and Kerry shared 20 blissful years of marriage. He was not only her husband, but also her best friend, soulmate, and constant companion. Their marriage was marked by laughter, loyalty, respect, and deep devotion to God, family and friends.

Eric lived his faith through his gentle spirit, humility, generosity, and devotion as a husband, son, father, and friend. He will forever remain in our hearts and will be deeply missed. His kindness, strong values, and cherished memories will continue to live on through the love he shared with those closest to him.

He was a devoted father to Mathew and Mallory and took great pride in watching them grow throughout their lives. He loved his children unconditionally, always listening and caring in his own quiet and thoughtful way. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren which held a special place in his heart.

Sadly, Eric Lee Gooch passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 4, 2026, at HCA Hospital in Kingwood, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father John, mother Sandra Hayes, stepmother Donna, and brother Randy.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Kerry; his children, Mathew (Lori) and Mallory; his sisters, Darla (Eric) and Robin; his brother, John (Dee); brother-in-law Kevin(Brenda); mother-in-law Peggy; his grandchildren Rylie, Maddison, and Jackson; and nieces and nephews.

We will always remember and have Eric in our hearts.
