Fidel Moreno Martinez was born in Mesillas Sombrerete Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Cruz Moreno and Francisca Martinez. He was the eldest of seven siblings: Gregorio, Carmen, Salome, Francisca, Guadalupe, and Maria Teresa.

He lived in Kingwood, Texas with his wife of 64 years, Concepcion (Connie) Moreno. He was a devoted husband and loving father to his children, Lydia Reyes, Fidel Moreno, and Eduardo Moreno. He had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Fidel went to the University of Normal Guadalupe Aguilera in Durango Mexico and obtained his degree in Teaching. He moved to Chicago, Illinois where he would meet his soon to be wife at a restaurant in south side Chicago. He and his wife would eventually relocate to Kingwood, Texas where he enjoyed contributing to his community as a choir member of the St. Martha Catholic Church and made friends anywhere he went. He was a creative and artistic man who enjoyed learning and teaching as he often went by the motto, "There is always something to learn and always something to do".

Fidel had many interests in his life, he loved soccer, co-managed a boxing club in Aurora, mastered Kata, and even attained his second degree black belt in martial arts where he eventually became an instructor. He was affectionately known as "Old Man" by many of his students and friends he had made in his lifetime.

He will be greatly missed by his friends, surviving sisters, nieces and nephews, and most of all by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, wife and children.
