Florian Janes, age 90, died on Monday, December 30, 2024 in Houston, Texas. Born May 4, 1934 in Greene County, Alabama, Florian was the 7th born child of Anton and Johana Kalcic Janes. He grew up in Demopolis, AL with his siblings Tony, Frank, Frances, Mary, and Rose. He was a US Army Veteran, having served in Korea, and was a 1957 Auburn University graduate with a degree in Structural Engineering. Florian moved to Houston, TX in 1967 and married Eileen Ann Wise on June 29, 1968. Together they raised three children - Stephen Janes, Christine Steres (Janes), and Andrea Martin (Janes). He was a draftsman for Brown & Root for the majority of his career.

Florian is preceded in death by his wife, Eileen, his parents, and all of his siblings. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Allison), Christine (Scott), and Andrea (Andy), and his grandchildren, Austin, Alysse & Avery Steres, Julia & Lauren Martin, Emily Janes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Florian was a gentle soul and was kind to everyone. He was a loyal Auburn fan and always enjoyed watching his Tigers play football. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at St. Martha Catholic Church in Kingwood, TX. Interment will follow for immediate family in Webster, TX.
