Obituary for Gavin P. Cunningham

March 23, 1962 – July 4, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gavin P. Cunningham, who died on July 4, 2025, at the age of 63.

Gavin was born on March 23, 1962, to Barbara and Richard Cunningham, and spent his life surrounded by those who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Shawn Cunningham and Clay Cunningham.

He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Dillingham, Erin Garred, Heather Hardy, and by Cain Cunningham, who all held a special place in Gavin's life.

Gavin will be remembered for the steady warmth he brought to every room. A master woodworking craftsman and award-winning photographer, Gavin had a particular gift for capturing the spirit of the world around him—especially through photographs of his beloved dogs, most fondly Maggie Sue.

His heart held a special place for the elderly members of St. Martha's Catholic Church, where he gave generously of his time and care. His kindness, sense of humor, and calming presence will be deeply missed and long cherished.

A memorial service honoring Gavin's life will be held at 10:30 AM on July 17, 2025, at St. Martha's Catholic Church, located at 4301 Woodridge Pkwy, Porter, Texas, 77365. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
