Gloria Gertrude Nath, passed away peacefully at the age of 99, on June 12, 2024. Gloria was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 25, 1924 to Gertrude Eugenie and James Daniel Magee.

After graduating from Bay Ridge High School in 1943, Gloria attended drafting school at the Polytechnical Institute in Brooklyn. She worked as a draftsmen for Sperry Gyroscope, drawing blueprints for gunsights and gyros. Gloria moved to San Diego and was hired by the Navy as a draftsmen in the Public Works Department. She covered all blueprints for utilities on surrounding Naval Installations. She became an affiliate member of the American Society of Military Engineers.

In September of 1945, Gloria met Capt. Robert Ennis Nath, an Army Air Corp WWII pilot. Gloria and Bob married, and were devoted to each other for 61 years. They began a military life of moving and resettling for over 30 years in many places, to include Japan and Germany. Gloria "held down the fort" when Robert was sent overseas during the Korean and Vietnam wars. While Gloria supported her husband's career, she was an avid volunteer as a social worker and hospital volunteer. Gloria became the Red Cross Volunteer Leader for volunteers at Fort Belvoir, VA, while at the same time working in the emergency room.

Gloria was a voracious reader, primarily historical fiction. For over 20 years she volunteered in the Kingwood Library's used bookstore. Gloria filtered through masses of donated books and worked at the cash register, with proceeds going back into the library.

Gloria was an extraordinarily talented artist. She created exquisite pieces of art using various mediums such as charcoal, oils, sculpturing materials, stained glass and more. She traveled to Arizona to enhance her sculpturing talent, with intricate pieces set in bronze. Gloria had the opportunity to pass her drawing skills onto students at the Lone Star Continuing Education Art Department.

From the time she was a child to a few years before her death, Gloria pampered and cherished anywhere from one to several cats at a time. The majority of her feline companions were rescues. She had such a great love for cats, Bob nicknamed her "Kitty".

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Robert Ennis Nath, daughter Sandra Ann Gray, grandson Robert Harland Gray, granddaughter Lee Tracy Robinson, and great- granddaughters Elyse Michelle Robinson and Aubree Gail Mena. Gloria will be kept in loving memory through her surviving daughters Karin Lee Robinson, LeeAnn Nelson, Lisa Nath Kelley, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Gloria will be interred and reunited with her beloved husband Bob, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
