Obituary

Jen-Yi Huang passed peacefully on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at the age of 63. Known to loved ones as Jen, he was born in Taipei, Taiwan on the 15th of June, 1956 to Mei-Yu Lai and Chi-Shing Huang. He spent most of his formative years in Taipei, growing up fishing, swimming, and riding his motorcycle around the area. He attended National Taiwan University, where he met his wife Cathy, earned his medical degree and played competitive tennis.

After university, Jen and Cathy relocated to the US, spending time in California and Kansas before settling in the Humble, TX area where he established himself as a prominent radiologist and raised their two children, Aaron and Teresa.

Jen was an avid tennis player, car enthusiast, and a lover of all gadgets. He loved nature and was blessed with a green thumb and the ability to nurture any garden. His unique ability for care also extended to his loved ones. He was known to friends, family, and colleagues as a constant guiding figure. His compassion, expansive knowledge, and ability to navigate any situation with grace and appropriate levity made him a trusted leader, mentor, and confidant to all in his life. Jen was a spirited man and could be seen immediately befriending and cracking jokes with those he came across.

He is survived and will be fondly celebrated by his wife, Cathy Chang and his children, Aaron Huang and Teresa Day (ne Huang). He is also survived by his brothers, Jason, Rick, and Blake Huang.

In honor of Jen's love of nature, the family is kindly asking that in lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree through a memorial donation to an organization such as https://www.americanforests.org/ways-to-give/memorial-gift-trees/ or https://onetreeplanted.org/collections/united-states/products/national-forests.
