Jack J.
Buchholz
May 28, 1957 — Oct 23, 2025
Jack Jay Buchholz, 68, of Humble, Texas, passed away on Oct. 23, 2025. Born on May 28, 1957 in Swindon, England on an Air Force Base, he was a devoted husband to Deborah and a loving father to Jennifer and Heather, an amazing grandfather "Poppy" to Kaylee, Paige, and Branson.
Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 26 years working as an Air traffic controller, where he excelled at guiding planes from the center at IAH and training others to do the same. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.
Though Dad may not have always liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of love, integrity, kindness, generosity, and jokes, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Dad's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed golfing and traveling, often spending his time playing golf at many different courses. His love for golf & traveling was something he shared with others when he developed JBSgolf classic tournaments and led the APT tournaments leaving his mark on so many people and memories that will never fade.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Buchholz, children Jennifer Garland and Heather Kinman, Son-in-laws Calvin Garland and Michael Kinman, grandchildren Kaylee Garland, Paige Garland, Branson Kinman, his sister Kelli Guerin, and brother Joel Buchholz, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held on November 1, 2025 at 3pm at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Tx with visitation starting 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society , a cause that was close to Dad's heart or donation can be made towards helping the family pay for his funeral costs through the GoFundMe page.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
