Obituary

Dad was born on July 16, 1936, to K. C. & Mariamma Chacko, in

Chengannur, Kerala. He was the fifth of twelve children.

He finished his Diploma in Civil Engineering and worked as a Tracer for

10 years at the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited.

Dad & Mom were married on January 9, 1964.

In January 1969, Dad, along with Mom came to the US through the

sponsorship of his close childhood friend, Dr. P. G. John. They arrived

In Chicago, Illinois and were employed by Mercy Hospital.

As they grew their career and family, they extended their blessings to

many others by not only sponsoring more than 50 families but helping

them settle and succeed in the US. Mom always said Dad was the catalyst

in sponsoring them to the US so each of them could accomplish

their dreams!

Dad moved to Texas in 1984 and became a member of the Trinity Mar

Thoma Church. Due to the growth of the TMTC membership, he, along

with Rev. Eapen Cherian and a group of families spear-headed the formation

of a new church which is now known as the Immanuel Mar Thoma

Church of Houston established in 1994.

Even though he enjoyed playing many sports, he loved playing chess

and the card game 28, but his passion was watching tennis. The only

time he ever missed church was the day of the Wimbledon Finals.

Dad was the pillar of strength of the whole family. There is so much to

share about his life but his core being was his incomparable love and

dedication to Mummy, his children, grandchildren, his and Mummy's

siblings and their families.

He is survived by:

His children – Jackson, Wilson, Thompson, and Mary

His daughters-in-law – Ann, Ashwini, and Reena

His son-in-law – Chris

His grandchildren – Marian, Shane, Ashley, Maya, and Sabrina

Of his siblings, his sister Mariamma Isaac, brother John V. Chacko,

along with his sisters-in-law Susamma Thomas, Gracy Mathew, and

Molly Chacko are the last surviving of that generation, along with all

their children, and grandchildren.
