James Leroy (Roy) Anderson, 84, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025. Born on July 15, 1940, in Humble, Texas, to Ray H. and M. Kathryn Anderson, Roy lived a life defined by quiet strength, love for family, and a lifelong dedication to learning and hard work.

A graduate of Port Neches High School in the Class of 1958, Roy went on to attend Wharton Junior College for two years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving his honorable discharge in September 1969.

On November 12, 1971, Roy married Patricia "Patsy" Carter, in Humble, Texas. Together they built a home and life in Kingwood, Texas, raising their daughter, Natalie Anderson. Roy was a devoted husband and father, and he took great pride in his family.

Roy worked for many years at ARCO, which later became Lyondell, beginning his career there around 1970. He retired in 1999 after nearly three decades of dedicated service. In his retirement, Roy enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially reading, which he remained passionate about throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Kathryn Anderson, and his brother, Donald Ray Anderson.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia (Patsy) Anderson; his daughter, Natalie Anderson; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A Funeral Service will be held at Darst Funeral Home on June 10, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
