JAMES SCOTT DOMINY, "Scott", was born on October 31, 1958, to J.B. and Betty Dominy in

Houston, Texas. Scott was called home to heaven on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, where he

joined his parents and grandparents and is still bragging about his two sons and grandsons!

He is survived by his wife, Lori, sons Aaron (Erin) and Brett, two adorable grandsons, Bryce

and Kase Dominy, sister, Debbie Dominy, Father-in-Law and Mother-In-Law, J.R. and

Gloria Boliver and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Scott grew up in Houston, primarily in the North Shore area where he gained many lifelong

friends. His early years included lots of street baseball, football, basketball, and many hours

playing his Strat-O-Matic Baseball game. He went on to play Little League, followed by High

School baseball. He had many fond memories of his baseball days playing multiple positions

on the North Shore Mustangs Baseball team and being a Rounder for the school mascot,

Thunder. His love for the Astros began early in life, listening to the Houston Colt .45s games

on the radio, often by sneaking the radio to his bed so his Mom wouldn't know! He was an

Astros fan his entire life, often referred to as the "Astros Go-To" for stats and facts.

Scott and Lori married in November, 1987, in Houston, Texas. He was a devoted and loving

husband whose love never wavered, making that abundantly clear on a daily basis. He

showed grace often, was quick to forgive and loved his family fiercely. Scott and Lori

welcomed Aaron in 1989 and Brett in 1992, and Scott spent the next phase of his life being a

dedicated baseball Dad to Aaron, while supporting Brett throughout his school years and

milestones and made it abundantly clear that his boys were his life. Love of all things "boys"

doubled when Aaron and Erin blessed the family with two precious grandsons, Bryce and

Kase. Scott was so proud of his boys and when the Grand-loves came along his heart was

overflowing with pure joy and love. He spent many evenings in his recliner rewatching video's

of the littles with a huge smile on his face, and couldn't wait until the next visit when he would

see them again!

Scott had many lifelong friends and was great about keeping in touch with them all. He spent

many weekend evenings in his man-cave chatting and reminiscing while enjoying his favorite

adult beverage, Jack and Diet Coke. The family would like to acknowledge those who took

time out of their busy schedules to visit him while he was at MD Anderson: Mitch Gray, Lane

Watkins, Gregg Mosley, Billy Boaz and David Clifton, he treasured your friendship.

Scott underwent surgery for recurring skin cancer on his cheek and nose at MD Anderson on

May 1, 2024. While the surgery was extensive, the family was optimistic that after a grueling

round of radiation, they could continue on with life and love. However, the Squamous Cell

Carcinoma had other plans and after four weeks of radiation and a month at MD Anderson

Hospital, he lost his battle. Please let this be a lesson to us all to be more cognizant of our

own bodies, get regular skin checks, and encourage your loved ones to do the same.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
