Jana Yvonne Francis was born on January 16th, 1962 in Pasadena, TX to E.C. and B.J. Francis. She was the second of three children. Early in her life growing up, she attended Galena Park Elementary School, Humble Middle School, and Humble High School where she graduated. Most of her life was spent in Galena Park, Humble, Porter, and Tyler, TX, where she lived until her passing.

Jana was always known to be happy, caring, and a friend to many. She loved her horses and animals, and was an avid member of WW Trailriders. She loved horseback riding, and barrel racing, and made many rides on the annual San Antonio and Houston Livestock Show Trailrides. As a teenager, she was a member of the Harris County Jr. Deputy Sheriffs Mounted Posse, which performed drills at rodeos all over the state, including HLSR.

The most important event of her life was the birth of her daughter and grandson, who meant the world to her.
