Jane Nabors Phillips, beloved wife, mother, teacher, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on June 23rd, 2026, at the age of 79. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.

Jane was born on February 17th, 1947, in Bryan, Texas, to Cecil and Olive Ruth Nabors. She grew up in Bryan before moving to Huntsville, TX, in the summer of 1962, before her sophomore year of High School, where she met her forever sweetheart and future husband.

After she graduated from Huntsville High in 1965, she attended Texas Woman's University in the fall. Transferred to Sam Houston State University in the spring of 1966, where she was initiated into the Sigma Theta chapter of Chi Omega sorority. Jane graduated with her Bachelor's in 1968 and went on to achieve her Master's in Education in 1972.

Jane went on to fulfill her calling in education as an Art and English teacher, where she shared not only her love of language and learning, but also her gift for encouraging others in the Clarksville, Huntsville, Willis, Caldwell, and Humble ISDs. As an art teacher, her influence reached far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impression on her students and community that was blessed to know her.

On October 12th, 1968, she married Glenn Neal Phillips, exactly six years to the day of their first date. Together, they built a life marked by love, showcasing a beautiful example of partnership and devotion. She was a dedicated mother to Sara Jane and Katherine and a loving grandmother to Gabriel, Gemma, and Evalyn. To her family, she was the force that guided all.

Those who knew Jane will remember her for her creativity, humor, kindness, generosity, and strength. She had a way of finding the beauty in ordinary moments and offering the right words. She found joy in her garden, art, games, music, and movies with those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and sister. Preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 15th at 11am at the Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas.

Her family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received. Jane's life was a gift, and her legacy will continue through the family she loved, the students and friends she inspired, and the countless lives made better by knowing her.
