Obituary

Janet Hudson Harbour, age 84, was born in Helena, Arkansas on August 12, 1939, to Ethelbert Kennedy Hudson and Edna Zirkle Hudson. She passed away with her family by her side in Humble, Texas on November 23, 2023, after a long courageous fight with various cancers. A devoted wife, loving mother, adored grandmother, and caring great-grandmother, Janet will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 64+ years, Donald H. Harbour; sister Betty Saxon (Bill); children Donald Harbour, Jr., Beth Stafford, and Jennifer Harbour; grandchildren JoJo Trumbly (Jehu), Delaney Stafford, Hudson Foyle, Audrey Foyle, and Sophia Harbour; and great-grandchild Stella Trumbly, as well as various nieces and nephews.

Janet spent her childhood moving around various U.S. military bases in Mississippi, Arkansas and California. In elementary school, her family settled down in West Memphis, Arkansas where she met and married Don, her high school sweetheart. In 1959, they moved to Houston, Texas for Don's job. They moved to Kingwood, Texas in 1973, which became the family's main home base - with moves to Mexico City and Evansville, Indiana over the years, they always ended up back in the Livable Forest where she had lived the past 35 years. Through the years, she worked in real estate, volunteered with many organizations, and completed numerous continuous education classes, in subjects like Spanish and computers.

Janet enjoyed traveling, photography, sewing, reading, the beach, playing with her pup Bella, winning at family game night, and watching the Astros, wildflowers and hummingbirds each season. She loved Mama Mia! and could never resist the chance to sing along when the music played. But her very favorite pastime was hanging out with her grandchildren and watching them pursue their passions.
