Obituary

Jerry Cecil Plummer, 81 of Houston TX passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was born in Fort Worth, TX on December 21, 1941, to Cecil and Angie Plummer. Jerry grew up in Odessa, TX and attended Ector High School, where he played football and baseball. Jerry married his high school sweetheart Betty Jo Kelso on June 2, 1962, and then joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1962-1966. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty of 60 years. his parents Cecil and Angie Plummer, brother Earl Plummer, brother-in-law Curtis Lewallen, nephew Ronnie Plummer, sister-in-law Carolyn Fisher, niece Lisa Fisher.

He is survived by sons, Joey Plummer and wife Kimberly of Kingwood, TX, Jason Plummer and wife Chevelle of Austin, TX, grandchildren, Heather Alverez, and Austin Plummer of Houston, TX, Camryn and Joley Plummer of Austin, TX, sister Kathryn Lewallen of Odessa, TX, niece Sherry Lynn Fox and husband Gerald of Odessa, TX, nephew David Lewallen and wife Cheryl of Odessa, TX, niece Staci Walker and husband Kevin, nephew Brian Fisher and wife Kelli, sister-in-law Diane Plummer, step-grandchildren, extended nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends. Very special friends Milton Cox of Mississippi, Dion Burkard of Austin, TX, and Dan Banks of Houston, TX.

Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend to many through the years. Always had a joke and loved to make people smile. Jerry coached his sons in little league baseball and football where he had the opportunity to mentor man young men over the years. He never missed a game.

He loved his church, and the relationships he made and had a very special relationship with his pastor, Milton Pool whom he adored. He shall be dearly missed. Service Information A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at First Assembly of God, 1915 FM 1069 Bypass Rd E, Humble, Texas 77338 with Pastor Milton Pool officiating.
