Joan Louise Edmondson Osborne passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on January 3, 1939, in Maywood, California, Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Dorothy and Floyd Edmondson. She grew up in Lynwood, California, and later moved to Lakewood in 1958. On February 14, 1977, she and her family made Kingwood, Texas their home — a place where she would grow deep roots and make a lasting impact.

Joan was married to her high school sweetheart, Richard Osborne, for 60 wonderful years. Their love was the foundation of a beautiful life filled with family, adventure, and laughter. Together, they raised four children: Rick Osborne (Erika), Curt Osborne (Melissa), Pamela Beckert (Don), and Steve Osborne. Joan was a proud and devoted grandmother to six grandchildren — Makenzie Long (Garrett), Kaitlyn Beckert (Brian), Kyle Beckert (Sarah), Kevin Beckert, Madison Osborne, and Erick Osborne — and two great-grandchildren, Nixin and Roman Long. She is also survived by many other loving family members who were touched by her kindness, humor, and heart.

In 1978, Joan began her career as a REALTOR®, a calling that brought her joy and purpose for more than four decades. She helped hundreds of families in the Greater Houston area find their homes and was known for her gracious and genuine heart. Her clients became friends, and her colleagues became family.

Beyond her professional success, Joan was known for her adventurous spirit and generosity. She loved traveling to new places, relaxing by the ocean, and playing cards and games with those she loved. Her kitchen was always full of warmth, laughter, and the delicious smells of her cooking and baking — made with love for her family and friends. One of her most charming quirks was her love of lemons — she enjoyed eating them, plain and fresh off her lemon tree, and never failed to make others smile with her playful zest for life.

Even as she faced the challenges of dementia, Joan's gentle soul and unwavering love for her family shone through. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard; her sister, Mary Long; her brother, Charles "Chick" Edmondson; and her parents. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

Joan will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
