Joanne Barbara Marione, known as Barb to her family and friends, was born on August 15, 1952 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and John Kozak, and son Christopher. Barb is survived by her husband Mark, daughter-in-law Meredith, son Matthew Marione, and grandson Max.

Barb had a catholic education from kindergarten through high school, attending Holy Family Academy in Bayonne. She was an excellent student, graduating from Jersey City State University with a degree in biology. Several years later, she met Mark who was recently discharged from the US Navy. They married in 1981 and settled in Passaic, NJ.

In 1992, Barb and her family moved to Kingwood, Texas, and never looked back. She found a place in a beautiful suburban community, and made many friendships that have lasted over the years. She loved volunteering at the Society of St. Stephen and with the Women's Club of Kingwood. Barb especially looked forward to the Fall Marketplace where for many years she was the "coffee lady" often toting large containers of coffee from the kitchen to the service counter. She went home exhausted but happy.

Barb was a wonderful mother and wife, homemaker and an excellent cook. She spent 6 years taking care of a sick child, all the while being a loving, caring mom to her youngest boy and never losing her sense of humor. When her husband joined some friends in starting a company, she was the anchor that supported him through some difficult years. She enjoyed daily walks through Kingwood, even in the worst weather, and working out at the YMCA.

After their son left for college, her husband's business afforded Barb time to travel with him. She visited many US states and much of Europe. She especially loved the green and yellow fields of central England in the springtime, along with visiting many of the manor houses scattered throughout the area. Chatsworth was among her favorites.

Recently, her family welcomed a baby boy, Max, into their household, and she was delighted. She got to visit with and hold him several times, also spending hours looking at his photos. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
