Obituary

Joe R. Faulk, Jr. was lifted peacefully to meet our loving God and be joined with his parents, Joe Ralph Faulk, Sr. and Kathryn Bostick Faulk and his precious son, Jarod Ryan Faulk on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the age of 79. Joe was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Belinda Faulk; sister, Judi Wilds; daughter, Jenny Morgan; (husband, Steven Morgan); grandsons, Ryder Morgan, Brody Morgan and Tucker Morgan; stepdaughter, Melanie Farrell; (husband, Rick Farrell); and step-granddaughters, Brenna Farrell and Allison(Allie) Farrell. Also, nephew, Jonathan Wilds,(wife, Stephanie Wilds) and nieces, Julie Thompson and Jamie Dawson and many great nieces and nephews.

Joe was born on October 6, 1946 in Marshall, Texas where he spent his early childhood The family later moved to the Texas City- LaMarque area where he attended elementary, junior high and graduated from LaMarque High School in 1965. He and his family were active members of the LaMarque Church of Christ. He graduated from the University of Houston while working part-time at NASA as a runner to the astronauts and comptrollers in the large full-screen room. There he saw the moon-landing. He joined the Army Reserves and did his service from 1970 to 1976 learning to drive the amphibius landing equipment. Upon completion he moved to Dallas, Texas to work for Wells Fargo as Assistant Vice President and got his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. He later became Founder and President of the Amberley Hotel Corporation - an all suite hotel company with five hotels in four states. From there he worked for Wells Fargo again along with GE Capital Commercial Finance Real Estate and GE Hospitality Strategic Equity Ventures as Managing Director. Joe was also a commercial real estate lender and Texas Real Estate Broker.

Joe was so happy becoming a father to Jenny and Jarod. They spent a lot of time water skiing and other sports as a family. Upon the passing of Jarod in December 2008, Joe’s heart was broken but I know was thrilled when he saw him again in heaven. He enjoyed the time when each of his 3 grandsons were born and cherished every moment he was able to spend with them.

Before retiring, Joe did consulting for several different lenders in the hospitality industry. His last job was in Atlanta, GA where he and Belinda lived after being married in November of 2011. When he completed that assignment they moved to the Houston area to be close to his Mother and other family members. Joe was a wonderful son and spent the week days for several months prior to her passing helping his sister care for her.

Joe and Belinda joined the Second Baptist - North Campus and became active members in the choir and Bible study classes. He looked forward every week to his early Thursday morning men’s Bible Study with Jeff Rogers and the followup breakfast with the guys. He began every morning with prayer time and Bible study. Joe served as a Deacon and worked part-time in the Fellowship Learning Center until his health prevented it. He was also a dedicated counselor at the Mission Northeast. He truly enjoyed counseling with the under-priviledged and sharing God’s Word and praying with them. He would also make food deliveries to them.

A memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at the Second Baptist-North Campus (22770 US-59, Kingwood, TX 77339) on Saturday. September 19th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mission Northeast, Samaritan’s Purse or the charity of your choice in his memory.
