John Billy Murray, 90,  passed away peacefully at HCA Kingwood Hospital on Friday 28th February, after much deterioration in his health, especially during the last year. He was a very strong and resilient character, and remained in good spirits despite his many health challenges and the loss of his his closest family members.

He paid his way through college at Mississippi State University, was a veteran of the US Air Force, and had a very successful career in technical sales, becoming a top sales representative for the company Westinghouse. He married his college sweetheart Edna Manning, and was her devoted husband until she passed away after nearly 50 years of marriage. He was a great father to their daughter Michelle who, sadly, also passed away 10 years ago.

John loved hunting, fishing, golf, sports (particularly football and basketball, would tolerate baseball if there was nothing else to watch), and was a champion chili cook, having won the Terlingua International Championship Chili Cookoff in 1984. He was a member of Kingwood Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John's favorite charities. St Jude's Children's Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.
