Johnny Anthony Davis passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, after a long-fought hard battle with Lung/Brain Cancer at the home of his sister Maria Lee who was caring for him in Kingwood, Texas. He was 61 years old. Johnny was born in Denver, Colorado on December 6, 1964, to parents Leslie M. David (Air Force Veteran) and Maria C. Bonaparte (Munoz-Gomez). He was a happy, somewhat quiet and mischievous boy. He played soccer and participated in Judo and he excelled at both.

He attended John Marshall High School and graduated in 1983.

A short time after graduating he joined the United States Army and served his country for 20 years. He was a parachute rigger and a mastered jumpmaster for the 82nd Airborne Division and worked with the 101st Airborne Division. He was with the 82nd Airborne Division in the Gulf War and with the 5th Special Forces Group in Iraqi Freedom. He spent a year in Korea with the 4th-Quarter Master Company. He retired from the Army at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Johnny loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his two sons Austin and Cole. He was very proud of them. He had a dry sense of humor which was quite funny and an obsession with chocolate. Anything chocolate. Many do not know that Johnny was also quite the carpenter. He loved making and building things out of wood. His favorite response at times was “Okie Dokie Smokie”.

Johnny was known for his integrity, loyalty, professionalism, hard work ethic and laid-back attitude. You could also describe him as a little bit of a smart aleck, but he was most known for the love and dedication he had for his two sons. They were his whole world.

He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Carmen Bonaparte (Munoz-Gomez). He is survived by his two sons, Austin and Cole Davis, his father Leslie Davis his sister Maria Lee, his nephew Justin Fischesser and his niece Leslie Ludwig.

We love you Johnny and we will forever carry you in our hearts. You will be missed so much and will never be forgotten.
