With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jonathon Douglas Rassinier, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who left us far too soon at the age of 41. Born in Houston, Texas, he loved God and was a genuine soul with a heart of gold. Known for his love of family, Jon will be deeply missed by all who love him.

As a testament to the love and pride he had for his family, no matter where he lived, Jon made each place feel like home by surrounding himself with family photos, reminders of those he held closest to his heart. Jon hardly missed a family gathering. He cherished family holiday traditions with excitement and often worked hard to keep them alive, even when others were less enthusiastic. Needless to say, he made family gatherings fun and memorable.

Jon spent most of his life in the Houston area and had an unwavering love for his hometown. He loved to attend concerts and sporting events so much that he found a way to get paid to watch them by finding opportunities to work catering jobs at the events. Jon was a chef by trade but his true artistry was in his own kitchen, where he found joy in cooking for family and friends. His vast collection of cookbooks was a testament to his love for exploring new dishes and adding his own creative spin. Whether trying a challenging new recipe or making a family favorite, he infused every meal with his love and care.

Alongside his culinary talent, music and art also held a special place in Jon's heart. He was a drummer while in high school and even though he no longer had a drum set, he kept a set of drumsticks close by making music on any available surface. He was also an aspiring artist who loved sketching and designing, leaving behind sketches and creations that captured his creative spirit.

Jon had quite an adventurous spirit. His boldness took him to the skies for skydiving, an experience he enjoyed so much he tried to convince everyone he knew to join him, including his own mother. His zest for adventure was truly inspiring, and he was always ready for the next one.

Above all, family was Jon's greatest love. As the youngest of four siblings, he leaves behind his loving mother, Celia Rassinier, his siblings: Jim Rassinier, Nick Rassinier and wife Cori, and Rebecca Rivas and husband Kerry. He also leaves behind his nephews and nieces: Derrick Rassinier and wife, Hayley, Bryce Rassinier and wife, Lauren, Madison Perdomo and husband, Julian, Bronson Rassinier, Meagan Schaefer, Barret Rassinier, Brock Rassinier, Levi Rivas, and Lorelei Rivas. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Craig Rassinier.

We will miss you dearly little brother, but we know that one day we will all be reunited in Heaven, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.
