Obituary

Joseph Christopher O'Brien Jr. was born April 26, 1955 in Staten Island NY to the late Joseph O'Brien Sr. and Maeguerite C (Landy) O'Brien, and died Wednesday January 29, 2025 at his residence with complications from cardiovascular hypertension.

Mr. O'Brien was married on June 21, 1986 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Staten Island, NY to the love of his life, the late Alicemarie Theresa (Lorenz) O'Brien.

Mr. O'Brien went to St. Peters Boys High School and graduated with honors from St. John's University with a B.A. in Accounting and with Honors. He worked in Manhattan New York for a company called Kuehne Nagel for 30 years. Then moved offices to New Jersey.

He and his family relocated to Howell, NJ in 1996 and then relocated to Kingwood, TX 2015.

Mr. O'Brien survived by his wife Alicemarie T. O'Brien who passed on July 11, 2020; son Christopher Patrick O'Brien; daughter Erin Marie O'Brien; sister Marguerite Mary (Ferraro) O'Brien; brother Francis Bernard O'Brien; brother in-law Raymonf C. Lorenz Jr and many other cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by her parents.

His greatest passion were his children and cared about his special needs son Christopher and daughter Erin who was adopted in 2004 more than anything in the world. He always wanted to make sure they were both taken care of in every way he could.

He loved baseball, cars, and trying to help his community.

A special tanks to the Knights of Columbus, Joseph enjoyed being active in their community and helping where he could. A special thank you to the community at St. Martha's who was always willing to help Joseph.

A special thank you to Crimson Heights for the care of Christopher O'Brien.

In lieu of flowers contributions to United Cerebral Palsy or Children's Hope International Adoption Agency, St. Louis, MO will be appreciated.
