Born on August 3, 1940 to Howard and Vivian Karns in Alton, IL, Judy lived a life full of compassion, dedication, and service. She was known for her kind heart and tireless efforts to help those in need. She was a graduate of Beaumont High School and earned her teaching degree from Lamar University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Judy was committed to serving others and began training as a volunteer with FamilyTime Crisis & Counseling Center in March 1987. She soon became a legal advocate, and in 2006, she was appointed Executive Director. Over the course of 32 years, Judy made an indelible impact on the lives of countless individuals and families in the community. She retired as Executive Director in January 2020, but her passion for community service never wavered.

Even after her retirement, Judy continued to serve through her involvement with the Kingwood Executive Group, the Holocaust Remembrance Association, and other organizations. Her unwavering commitment to supporting and uplifting those in need left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Judy's family was her pride and joy. Judy is survived by her sister, Sharon, her children, Kathy, Trent (Lori), and Kevin (Frankie), and her beloved grandchildren Breanna, Ryan, Riley, Zachary, Caroline, Cortlandt and Channing as well as several great-grandchildren and many friends.
