Julie Rose Sullivan Sala passed away on April 19, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 9, 1942, in Houston, Texas, Julie lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, family, and the unending care of others.

Julie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill Sala; her daughter, Jennifer Sala, her parents Toni and Cornelius Sullivan; and her brother, Neal Sullivan. She also leaves behind an extensive legacy. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Behr and son-in-law, Bobby Behr; sons Carl Sala and Tony Sala along with his wife, Catherine Sala; and her cherished grandchildren: Emily, Caroline, and Grant Behr; Grace, Gwen, Tripp, and Townes Sala.

Julie was raised in the East End of Houston and graduated from Austin High School where she proudly served as Sgt. of Snare Drums in the Scottish Brigade. An alumna of Sacred Heart Dominican College, she often shared many fond memories from her time in college. Julie dedicated many years to her career as a nurse, touching the lives of countless individuals with her compassion and unique spirit. A devout Catholic, she never missed Mass and always sat in the front row. Her love of God was in all her actions, including raising her family, saving countless animals, and of course caring for many patients throughout her long career.

Everyone who knew Julie understood what a remarkable woman she was. She was beautiful, brilliant, very funny, and always lived her life by her own rules. She loved a good bargain and was generous with her prayers, time, and beautiful smile. Julie also had a particular flair for ordering her meals in restaurants, turning each order into a small spectacle, much to the delight of her family.

Julie's vibrant spirit, dedication, and boundless energy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
