Celebrating the Life of Karen Elizabeth Taylor

Karen Elizabeth Taylor, 83 years of age, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in Houston, Texas.

Karen was born on August 2, 1941, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Charles and Mary Hull. She was the youngest of five daughters. Karen was educated in the Ponca City School System in Oklahoma. She also attended Oklahoma State University.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Michelle Raffety and son-in-law, Patrick Raffety, and her grandchildren; Allison Raffety Fidalgo and Tyler Raffety, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles & Mary Hull and her sisters; Maxine Featherston, Juanita Hull, Joan Adkins, and Charlene Daniel.

Karen worked at Conoco/Phillips for 35 years and met many of her lifelong friends from her time there. Karen retired from Conoco/Phillips and moved to Florida in 2000 to be closer to her family. While living in Florida, Karen met many new friends with whom she enjoyed time playing golf and china painting.

Karen moved back to Houston in 2006 with her daughter's family. She joined the Lake Houston Women's Club where she enjoyed publishing the newsletter for the group for many years. Her free time was spent attending events for her grandchildren, from theater events to football games and any other activity in which they were involved.

Karen loved to take care of her family and always had a kind word or smile for everyone she met. She was a loving and caring person and was devoted to her daughter and her family. She was always thinking of others first and would do anything for anyone. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

No service is scheduled for Karen. She requested her ashes be scattered by her family in a beautiful spot among the flowers. Karen supported many organizations over her years but did not have a specific one she cherished. If you would like, you may donate in her honor to an organization special to you.
