David Russell Kimbro, 68, passed away too soon on May 21, 2020, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after battling acute myeloid leukemia.

Dave was born Oct. 31, 1951, to Kenneth "Russ" and Dorothy "Dot" Kimbro in Greybull, Wyoming. His family homesteaded and raised cattle in Beaver Creek in the Big Horn Mountains, where he attended school in a one room schoolhouse. The family then sold the ranch moving off the mountain to Greybull, WY where he and his younger sister Pamela (Richardson) were raised. Dave graduated from Greybull High School in 1970 and went on to Casper College where he met his wife Rebecca McCullough.

After Casper College, Dave got a job by chance near Casper, Wyoming with CE Natco, which led to a lifelong career in the oil and gas chemical industry.

Daves work then took him and Becky to Cody, Wyoming, where they started a family. He soon took a position with Exxon which led the family to Alaska, California and Houston, where the family settled in Kingwood. Dave decided to try something new and bought a small oilfield tool supply company which he and Becky ran from 1996-2001. Following that, he was able to travel the world from the Great Sphinx of Giza to Kuala Lampur while working for Weatherford, Lubrizol and JACAM.

Dave was an avid, lifelong golfer; he almost always refused to ride in a golf cart. He remained in close contact with his former classmates until the end. He enjoyed traveling back to his hometown for fly-fishing, visiting friends, relatives or just "piddling" around the Big Horn Mountains.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Becky; sons Geoffrey (Laura) and Bryan (Jennifer) and their daughter Alyson Stevens (Lee); and grandchildren Randal "Mack" Stevens, Penelope Kimbro and Layla Kimbro, who he loved and cherished very much; sister Pamela Richardson (Rod); two nieces, Andrea Nielsen (Bret) and Danielle Mitchell (Justin) and their children, and mother-in-law Susan McCullough Smylie. He will be greatly missed by his extended family members, friends and his golfing buddies.

Due to the circumstances of Covid 19, the family will have a memorial service at a later date in Wyoming.
