Lillie M. Folkes, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on October 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Lillie was full of love and life. She had a special way of lighting up every room she entered and bringing joy to everyone around her. Her warm heart, loving spirit, and beautiful personality touched the lives of so many. One of the things her family will always remember was her need to have the last “I love you” at the end of every conversation—a small but meaningful reflection of the love she gave so freely.
Lillie was a dedicated and caring medical assistant who worked alongside Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Rabin for 30 years. Throughout her career, she devoted herself to helping others and making a difference in the lives of those around her. After three decades of service, Lillie retired to enjoy the next chapter of her life, traveling and making beautiful memories with her beloved husband, Gary, and her family.
Lillie especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and creating memories with the people she loved most. She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she shared with them will forever remain in their hearts.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Elder and Nellie Chappell; her sisters, Zelma Fleming, Louise Kinnaird, Bessie Norwood, Faye Burleson, and Kathy McGee; and her brothers, Buddy Chappell, Manual Chappell, and Rudolph Chappell.
Lillie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gary Folkes Sr.; her children, Gary Folkes Jr. and wife Angie Folkes, Rhonda Folkes, Jason Folkes and wife Joanna Folkes; her grandchildren, Kristen Palm, Colby Stump, Amanda Orsak, Tristen Stone, Brooke Orsak, Cole Orsak, Sarah Beatty, Landon Beatty, Ashley Folkes, Trey Folkes, Riley Folkes, Cody Folkes, Jace Folkes, Jayden Folkes, and Josslyn Folkes; Glenn Taylor, and Crystal Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Samuel Hernandez, Rylie Stump, Madelyn Beatty, Thomas Beatty, Zaliya Taylor, and Gabriel Taylor; and her brother, Doniece Chappell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to those around her will never be forgotten. The love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her life was a blessing, and her memory will be cherished always.
