In Loving Memory of Lora L. Voltmann

July 28th 1967-June 29th 2026

Lora L. Voltmann passed away peacefully in a hospital in Kingwood, Texas on June 29th surrounded by her loved ones. She will be remembered as a selfless, generous, and loving woman. She was revered as a teacher and friend, loved as a daughter and sister, and cherished as a mother and wife. Nothing meant more to her than her family.

Lora was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Walter and Elizabeth Cooley. She was the eldest of three children. Her siblings are Rachel Little and Jason Cooley.

Lora married Matthew Voltmann in March of 1993 in Kingwood, Texas at St. Martha's Catholic Church. They met during her junior year of high school while attending CCE class at church and began dating her senior year of college. Together, they had two children, Megan Smith and Sean Voltmann.

Lora graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught Spanish at Stovall Middle School and Kingwood High School before leaving her career as teacher to raise children and start a family. She often enjoyed returning to substitute at the high school level throughout her life.

Lora was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. She fought bravely with tremendous faith, courage, and optimism. Throughout her battle, she remained completely devoted to her family.

Lora will be deeply missed, and leaves behind memories her family will treasure forever. Her impact on their lives will never be forgotten.

Lora's funeral service will be held at St. Martha's Catholic Church.
