Margot Ann Charles lived in Jamaica, New York with her husband, Clarence and son Robert prior to moving to Houston. Margot attended elementary and junior high school in Queens, NY. She attended Central Commercial High School and received her Bachelors at University of Houston, Downtown Houston. Her first job was at the age of fifteen (15) working as a professional legal secretary for a law firm during her senior year of high school.

Margot was married to Clarence Charles until his passing in February 2007. Clarence and Margot had one child, Robert who lives in the Houston area with his wife Randi. Margot has a granddaughter Briana and a great-grandson Braylen who also live in the Houston Area. Margot also has a step-daughter, Renee Bennett and a step-son Raymond Charles who is deceased. Margot is also survived by her nephew Wayne Jones and his wife Debbie and another nephew Dominic Robertson. There is also a host of relatives and friends who she is also survived by.

Margot and Clarence's employment with Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) resulted in the family moving from New York to Houston, Texas in August 1974. Margot wore many hats during her thirty-five years of employment with ARAMCO. Margot was also very involved in volunteering with various organizations. She is a member of the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, a member of the Ensemble Theater Guild and has sat on the board of many organizations.

She was the heart of her family, a source of endless love, wisdom and strength. Her warmth brightened the lives of everyone she touched, and her memory will remain a guiding light for us all. Though she is no longer with us, her love and spirit will forever be cherished.
