Mary Delafield
Leribeus
Jul 4, 1951 — Feb 10, 2025
Born on July 4, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, she spent her early years there with her parents, Wilton Bryant Delafield and Lydia Babineaux Delafield, as the second of three children. She later moved to Louisiana, where she was raised alongside her siblings by her mother and two aunts, Elphie Babineaux and Sally Wetzel. After completing middle school, she left the state to attend high school at St. Mary of the Pines in Chattawa, Mississippi. Upon graduation, she pursued higher education at the University of Dallas in Texas.
Her professional journey led her to a long and successful career in the insurance industry, where she worked with various local and national agencies. Eventually, she settled in Houston, where she built a family and raised her two children, Melissa Graham and Jason White. It was there that she met Andy LeRibeus, with whom she shared 22 wonderful years until his passing in 2003. Together, they embraced the joys of a blended family, traveling, spending time at Columbia Lakes Golf Course, and cherishing life's everyday moments.
Later in life, she moved to Kingwood, Texas, to be closer to her daughter and family. She began a new chapter with Edward Jones, dedicating over a decade to building lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and anyone seeking sound financial advice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and beloved husband. She is survived by her two siblings, Joseph Delafield and Mary Clare Delafield, along with many cousins who played an integral role in her upbringing in Louisiana.
Her legacy is one of love, warmth, and a deep passion for cooking, a true reflection of her Cajun heritage. She will be deeply missed by her children, Melissa Graham, and her three children—Garrett, Sarah, and Adam Graham—as well as her son, Jason White, his wife Tiffany White, and their children, Jace and Camdyn White.
At this time, the family is planning a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, they ask that condolences be expressed through donations to a charity of choice. Having lost Andy to ALS, she was passionate about supporting research for a cure and would have appreciated contributions made in his honor.
