Obituary

Mr. Mathew Cherian, affectionately known as Sunny, was born on November 25, 1953, to the late Chacko Mathew Thekkekara and the late Rosamma Mathew Thekkekara in Veroor, Changanacherry, Kerala, India. He was called home by his Savior on October 16, 2022. Sunny is survived by his wife, Bridget, their two children Antony and Rose Cherian, his daughter-in-law, Salini Cherian son-in-law, Justin Joseph and his grandson James Cherian. Sunny and Bridget married in 1985 and later moved from India and settled in Houston, TX.

Sunny was a devout father, husband, brother, and son. His love for his family was unconditional and always put their needs above his own. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle heart and his ability to make others laugh and feel at home. Sunny was passionate about gardening and enjoyed fishing and cooking with his family.

Throughout his life, he was very supportive, encouraging, and nurturing to all around him. Even during his battle with cancer, his faith in God was unwavering, and remained positive in his outlook. Our hearts are heavy, but we are rejoicing that he is at peace and in heaven with his loving Lord and Savior.
