Lloyd Hiram McAlpine, Jr. (Rick) passed away on September 29, 2014 at Kingwood, Texas. He was born October 11, 1946 in Wakefield, RI. Rick was the third of four children born to Jean and Lloyd Hiram "Mac" McAlpine. The son of a US Naval officer, he was raised all over the world. Rick graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and received a Masters degree from the University of Texas. Over the years he worked for JC Pennys headquarters in New York and the Texas Department of Transportation in Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Rick is survived by two sisters, Heather McKenna and Gail Ross, a brother, Roddy McAlpine and many nieces and nephews. He was a thoughtful, caring brother and friend and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 4:30. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Ricks name be made to Trinity University at 1 Trinity Place, Box 49, San Antonio, TX 78212.
