Michael Anthony Armendariz, known affectionately by many as "Mickey", passed away on January 25, 2026. Born on October 28, 1956, in San Antonio, TX, he spent the majority of his life in Houston, Texas, where he was a beloved figure in his community. Walt Whitman once said, "The powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse." For Mickey, his verse was one of beauty, color, and creativity, breathed into the world through his artistry as a floral designer.

Mickey devoted his life to his passion for floral design. His hands, imbued with the ability to transform simple flowers into exquisite displays of beauty, brought both joy and solace to many. He was a master of his craft, weaving stems and blooms into tapestries of color and emotion. In his work and life, Mickey embodied the words of Claude Monet, "I must have flowers, always, and always."

Michael is survived by his siblings Ruben Sr (Rose), Sylvia Hanson (David), and Linda Hirsch (Peter), Michael also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ruben Armendariz and Beatrice Sanchez-Armendariz. A memorial service celebrating the life and legacy of Michael Armendariz will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00pm CST at the Darst Funeral Home, located at 796 Russell Palmer Rd., Kingwood, Texas, 77339.
