A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 PM at The Good

Shepherd Episcopal Church in Kingwood, TX for Perry George "Pete" Curfman,

67, who died on Saturday, January 27th, 2023 at his residence in Kingwood. A

reception will be held immediately following the service at the church.

The service will be officiated by Reverend Celeste Geldreich.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carita Boutte Curfman of Kingwood

TX, his two sons, Perry George Curfman II of Kingwood, and Connor Thomas

Curfman of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Dr. Corbet W. Curfman, Hugh W.

Curfman II, Locke O. Curfman; and one sister, Donna C. DeVay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jayne Locke and Hugh Wendell

Curfman.

Pete was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He stayed there and

eventually raised a family until work opportunities later relocated the family to

Corpus Christi, Texas and then finally Kingwood, TX. He graduated from

Louisiana State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry/

Wildlife. After graduating college, he worked at a variety of companies

throughout his career, including Reynolds Metals Company and Peoples Energy,

before ending as the Vice President of Land at Preston Oil and retiring in 2019.

He was a member of the AAPL for over 40 years. Pete married Carita Boutte on

August 23, 1980 at St. John's Cathedral in Lafayette, Louisiana, after asking her

to marry him a few hundred times during the course of their courtship.

Throughout his life, Pete led an active and athletic life, competing in sports

throughout his adult life, including competitive cycling and sailing. He

participated in multiple cycling races, such as the MS150 and various century

rides. He was a member of the Hobie Fleet 99, participated in the Rough Riders

Regatta, and the 29.9 Regatta. He loved being outdoors, using his green thumb

to work in the garden and lawn, or walk his beloved dogs. As a native

Louisianan, he participated in Mardi Gras celebrations throughout his life:

member and Duke for the Krewe of Gabriel, member and Duke for the Krewe of

Attakapas, and member of Les Brigands de Lafitte Krewe.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wounded Warrior

Project.
