Celebrating the Life of Ralph Roberts Garringer, of Kingwood, Texas, who passed away on February 6, 2024. Ralph was born on December 16, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, where he lived throughout his childhood with mother, Mildred Garringer.
Ralph Garringer graduated from Patterson Co-op High School and then Franklin University where he earned his BBA bachelor Degree of Science and Business Administration and an MBA from Capital University. After graduation, he began a career as a CPA. He served in the Air Force Service from 1959 to 1962, in between his time with the military Ralph married Kathleen Belle Foley, on April 2, 1960.
Thereafter, he dedicated his time to The Boy Scouts of America, Freemasonry- where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, reading, learning about history, especially the US civil war history and he was a proud fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Ralph was an intelligent, generous, compassionate, talkative, and caring man. He loved to travel and was passionate about his work. He was an advocate for education and helped influence many that he crossed paths with. He retired in 2003.
During retirement Ralph spent much of his time reading history books and learning to master the art of cooking and barbequing. Ralph and wife Kathleen enjoyed spending time at home with their beloved dog Tucker and traveling while in retirement. Ralph loved football and loved talking to his friends and family about any and everything.
Ralph is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Garringer. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Kathleen Belle Garringer; son Ralph Garringer II; sister-in-law Phyllis Jenkins; niece Debbie Kammeyer and very special friends Henrik and Anna Mikuta, Victoria Mikuta and Jack Mikuta.
Services for Mr. Garringer will take place at Darst Funeral Home on February 13, 2024, from 9:30am to 10:30am. Followed by a committal Service at Houston National Cemetery at 11:15am Celebration of Life Tuesday 13 Feb 9:30 am ~ 10:30 am Darst Funeral Home 796 Russell Palmer Rd. Kingwood, TX, 77339
