Celebrating the Life of Raymond Ernest Foster

Ray managed his last days with strength, stubbornness, and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his beloved ones as possible. He and his family were blessed to spend one last Christmas together and on his final day, his wife, Sondra of 47 years, whom he adored, was by his side in their home when he was welcomed into Heaven on December 26, 2023.

Ray was born April 29, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama to Ernest Marsden Foster and Gladys Christine Ewton Foster. He was the youngest of three children. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Judith Foster Wallace, and his brother Alfred Foster.

He is survived by his wife Sondra, three sons Steven G. Foster, Larry Foster, Ernest Myles Foster, daughter Deborah Foster-Spake, and bonus children Kelly Westover and Steve Gray. His eleven grandchildren - Nicholas Raymond Talamantes, Shelby K. Westover, Kyle Gray, Sean and Ryan Spake, Cara, Conor, Aubrey, McKenna, Ethan, and Zack Foster and two great grandchildren, Cole Mason, and Connor Ray Talamantes.

Ray was always a busy man and always the entrepreneur. After serving in the Air Force, Ray entered the real estate profession. Early in his career he discovered some basic and simple concepts for real estate sales. He continued to refine and update these concepts which made him consistently a top producer - so much so he conducted professional workshops from coast to coast sharing his expertise and experience with innumerable men and women who became highly productive and successful members of the real estate profession. Realtor boards and associations across the country acclaimed his inspirational, practical approach to developing successful selling techniques.

Ray was a prolific writer. His articles have been featured in every major real estate publication in America. He began and was president of Americas largest producer of personalized newsletters for the real estate industry as well as producing and marketing over 100 different video tapes featuring the top real estate experts. Prior to retiring, Ray spent many years in the home mortgage industry as a mortgage broker.

Ray and Sondra married in May of 1976, and moved to Kingwood in 1977. Ray was active in numerous community and civic activities, including Kingwood Kiwanis, serving on his CA, and KSA board, National Day of Prayer organizer, and a member of Unity Baptist Church. Ray was genuinely happy on the golf course where you could always find him when he was not working and was a member of the Mens Golf Association at Kingwood Country Club. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Alabama - Roll Tide!

His memory will be cherished by his brother and sister-in-law Ron and Marsha Moore, long-time acquaintances Warren and Dorene Mather, and his devoted caregiver Angie Teague.

The family expresses their gratitude to his nurses, Natalie, Meghan, and the staff of Altus Hospice.
