Celebrating the Life of Richard J Keenan

Richard John Keenan was born on September 27, 1945, in The Bronx, New York. He was the singular child to parents John and Florence Keenan. In June 1972, he married Lesley Mary Macdonald at Naugatuck Ct. Together they were members of the Episcopal Church: St Thomas the Apostle

Richard Keenan attended the Cardinal Hayes High School for boys of the Bronx in New York in his youth. After finishing his high school career, he went on to graduate from the University of Manhattan, where earned a master's degree in chemical engineering. After graduation, he began a career as a Chemical Engineer in various cities including, Baton Rouge La, Lafayette La, Houston Tx, and San Francisco Ca. He retired in 2010, after serving for 43 years.

After retirement, Richard was involved in Animal Rescue, through ASPCA. He enjoyed taking care of animals, traveling, cooking, as well as spending time with his family and friends Dwight, Judy, Everett, Crocket, and Steve Madafari. Some of his favorite artists include Rolling Stone, Limelighters, Chicago, and The Beatles.

A memorial service will be held for Richard at at 5:00 pm Monday Feb 5 th , 2024, at St Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in 18300 Upper Bay Rd, Houston, TX 77058. In lieu of flowers Richard requested donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
