Robert "Bob" G. Galbreath

Robert "Bob" G. Galbreath, 88, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. He was born on September 6, 1937.

On May 28, 1960, Bob married the love of his life, Bonnie Galbreath. Together they built a loving family and shared more than 66 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Galbreath; his daughter, Deborah Matteson; his son, Mike Galbreath and his wife, Veronica; and his son, Stephen Galbreath and his wife, Laura. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Nicole Brummett, Maddie Galbreath, and Griffin Galbreath, as well as his treasured great-grandson, Gavin Brummett. He is also survived by his sisters, Beverlee Brooks and Lynda Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George "Robert" and Aileen Galbreath; his grandson, Jake Hales; his brother, Gary Galbreath; and his sister, Sharyn Smith.

Bob proudly served in the Ohio Air National Guard and was honorably discharged on May 16, 1961. He earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University in 1959 and later received a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Toledo.

Throughout his distinguished career, Bob served as Chief Financial Officer for several companies, including Borg-Warner and Milchem Industries. Even after retiring from corporate leadership, his passion for work continued as he joined his brother at GGC Wholesale Flooring, where he enjoyed working alongside family.

Bob was immensely proud to be a Buckeye. His Ohio State pride was unmistakable, and anyone who knew him could count on hearing about the Buckeyes before long. He was also a dedicated member of Toastmasters beginning in the 1960s, where he developed lifelong friendships and honed his love of public speaking. After moving to Kingwood in the early 1980s, Bob became a faithful member of Kingwood Methodist Church, where he remained an active part of the church family for many years.

Bob also never outgrew the magic of childhood. Every Easter, he proudly insisted that he believed in the Easter Bunny-just so Bonnie would make sure he had an Easter basket waiting for him. It became one of the many sweet traditions that reflected his playful spirit and the loving bond he and Bonnie shared throughout their marriage.

Bob will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his quick wit, his playful sense of humor, and the genuine pride he took in the people he loved. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of Life

Bob's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kingwood Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77339. There will be prayer and an opening for sharing a brief memory at 10:30.
