After a 17 year fight with cancer, Robert Scheuer went to Heaven on December 17, 2022. Thankfully, we worship a God who guarantees and promises everlasting life through Jesus Christ. We are at peace knowing there will be no more suffering, and Rob is fully alive - spending forever with our perfect Father.

While this time has been sad, we are fully trusting in Gods plan. Gods timing was the right timing, as Janelle (wife), Jared (son), Kiara (daughter), and Christina (sister) all surrounded him in his final days. We will all remember Robs positive attitude, strong faith, and quick witted humor.

Rob was born on February 7th, 1963 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He graduated from John Taylor Collegiate in 1981. Rob attended Princeton University, where he studied economics, and was captain of the hockey team. After graduating in 1985, he was drafted by the Boston Bruins, and played as a defenseman. A few years later, Rob met the love of his life at an airport gate while waiting for his delayed flight. The Scheuer family moved to Houston, Texas in 1998 where Rob led the lumber trading team at Enron.

Rob enjoyed golfing with his buddies and working out at the gym. He volunteered as president of the Blue Tide Aquatics swim team for many years. He was active at Christ the King Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday School while his kids were growing up. Rob went to great lengths to make sure everyone felt special. He absolutely loved being a dad and always made his children a priority. During Robs final days, we asked him for his advice to us. He responded with: "Stay close with Jesus Christ". Rob was truly a fighter. After enduring years of chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, surgeries, and clinical trials, many never knew of his journey. Rob never wanted friends and family to be concerned about his health. We have no doubt his life was extended due to his positive spirit, strong faith in Jesus Christ, and amazing GI team at MD Anderson including Dr. James Yao and Alicia Ross, PA.

He is survived by his wife, Janelle Scheuer (Zube), son Jared Scheuer, daughter Kiara DeWitt (Blake), sister Christina Tonella (Claudio), and father Ed Scheuer. He is preceded in death by his mother Erna Scheuer, and brother Jamie Scheuer (Wendy). He will be greatly missed by relatives throughout Canada, as well as friends from Princeton University, Kingwood Country Club, Christ The King Lutheran Church and neighbors from Kingwood.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 3803 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, TX 77339. Friends and family are encouraged to wear bright, fun colors, reflecting Robs upbeat attitude. A get-together to honor and celebrate Rob will follow at the Scheuer Home at 3:30.
